At evergreen puzzles, we’ve decided to create three different styles for folks to test their limits and discover which mode feels the most satisfying!

Our first style is our take on the traditional puzzle with interlocking pieces that you find at most stores and on most peoples book shelves. However, our tabs range from your normal oval shape to animal tusks, lightening bolts, dog bones, and anything else you can imagine, to add an extra element of character and aesthetic.

Our second style is our non-interlocking puzzle which originates all the way back to the 1700’s even before interlocking ones were created. These puzzles are notoriously challenging and often require a non-slip felt or high friction surface to prevent pieces from accidentally moving apart or separating unintentionally. While these puzzles don’t provide the instantaneous satisfaction that the standard snapping of an interlocking piece does, completing a non-interlocking design comes with its very own sense of reward that’s derived from true patience, determination, and trust in the process! If you haven’t taken a stab at this style of puzzle. Consider this your sign to give it a go, who knows? It might quickly become the challenge you’ve been waiting for.

Our third style is our whimsical collection which combines recognizable shapes such as animals, symbols, people, and objects amongst irregular, unique, “random” shapes that more so resemble clouds in the sky, in the sense that each person may see something different. These are my personal favorite, as each piece is its own work of art. It also changes the way you approach a puzzle. Rather than starting with the border or using the provided puzzle image as reference, it can be fun to attempt the puzzle based on pieces alone without ever looking at the image you’re creating! The satisfaction of putting together two distinctive pieces or connecting a dogs’ paws with their owners hand, is simply unmatched.
